Kari Wittmann Lata, M.S., received a B.A. in psychology from the University of Nebraska and a Master's degree in marriage and family therapy from Northern Illinois University's Accredited Graduate Program in Marriage and Family Therapy. She is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, and a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor. Prior to joining the Couples Clinic, Kari worked with couples in a variety of hospital, university and agency settings. Kari is known for her thoughtful attention to the details of couples lives, and for an organized approach to helping couples change. Partners are assured by the fact that Kari always has a plan for making things better. Kari believes that each couple is unique, and she avoids "cookie cutter" methods where couples are asked to fit into pre-existing molds. Each partner feels understood and supported by Kari as she helps them find customized solutions that fit their unique personalities. Whenever possible, Kari and her husband, Jeff Lata, work together with couples seeking therapy. |
